Do individually purchased books remain after the subscription ends?
Audiobooks bought separately are tied to the account and stay available, whereas catalogue content included with a subscription can only be played while that access is active.
Is an internet connection needed while listening?
Not if the file has already been downloaded in the app. A connection is needed to download titles, sync your progress and buy new books.
