KFC (肯德基) is an international fast-food chain built around chicken dishes. The menu centres on breaded chicken made to the chain's signature recipe: battered pieces, strips, wings and nuggets, along with burgers and wraps, fries, salads, sauces, drinks and desserts. Buckets for sharing are a category of their own. The menu varies noticeably by country: in China it includes breakfasts, rice and local items; in India there is an extended vegetarian section; Malaysia and South Africa have their own regional sets. Orders can be placed in the dining room, at the till, at a self-service kiosk, through the chain's app or for delivery. A gift card is used to pay for food in restaurants and, where the country supports it, in the app when ordering online. The card is tied to the market and currency it was issued in: the chain is run by a different partner in each country, so a card is normally not accepted elsewhere.
How to redeem the card
- Check which country the card is for and choose a restaurant in that same region.
- Put your order together at the till, at a self-service kiosk or in the chain's app.
- To pay in the restaurant, present the card or read out the code to the cashier before the receipt is rung up.
- When ordering online, enter the code in the gift card field at the payment step, if that method is available in your country.
- If the bill comes to more than the card value, pay the difference by any accepted method and keep the card with its remaining balance.
FAQ
Does the card work in any country where the chain has restaurants?
As a rule, no. Restaurants in different countries are run by different operators, and gift cards are issued separately for each market and its currency.
Can the card be used for a delivery order?
It depends on the country and on whether delivery is arranged in the chain's own app or through a third-party aggregator. Aggregators generally do not support payment by a restaurant's gift card.
Does the card work for combos and promotional meals?
Usually yes: this is ordinary payment of the bill rather than a separate offer, so it can be combined with the meal deals and coupons running at the restaurant, under that chain's rules.
