Bolt is an Estonian mobility platform that operates through a mobile app in dozens of countries across Europe, Africa and Asia. Its core service is booking rides with a driver, but in most cities the app brings together other options too: renting e-scooters and e-bikes by the minute, car sharing, restaurant food delivery and grocery delivery. A gift card tops up the account balance in the app, and the funds then go towards whichever Bolt services are available in your city. The mix of services varies by country and city: in some places only rides with a driver are available, in others the full range including delivery. The format works well as an everyday gift — the recipient decides whether to spend the amount on the commute to work, evening trips around town or ordering dinner.
How to redeem the card
- Install the Bolt app and sign in to your account, or register with your phone number.
- Open the payment settings section and find the field for entering a gift code or promo code.
- Enter the code from the card and confirm — the amount will be credited to your account balance.
- Before booking a ride or a delivery, select the Bolt balance as your payment method.
- Track the remaining funds in the same section of the app after each ride.

Which services can the balance be spent on?
The funds go towards whichever Bolt services have launched in your city: rides with a driver, scooter rental, car sharing, food and grocery delivery. The full range is not available everywhere.
Does a code bought for one country work in another?
Gift codes are usually tied to the country and currency they were issued in. The code should be activated in an account set to the same region it was purchased for.
What happens if a ride costs more than the remaining balance?
The app will take what is available from the balance and charge the difference to the linked payment method — a bank card or another method connected to the account.
