About the Ubuy card
Ubuy is an international cross-border marketplace with separate storefronts for Middle Eastern countries and other regions. It's used to order goods from foreign brands that local retail doesn't carry: electronics and accessories, computer peripherals, home and kitchen goods, sports equipment, cosmetics and fragrances, toys, books, collectible figures, car accessories and small household items. The catalogue is drawn from the range of overseas shops, so the listings are niche and varied, and delivery times depend on the country of dispatch. A Ubuy gift card suits people who order from abroad regularly and know what they're looking for. The card pays for an order on the storefront of the country its denomination was issued for: currencies include UAE dirhams, Saudi riyals, Qatari riyals, Kuwaiti and Bahraini dinars, and Omani rials.
How to redeem the card
- Sign in to your account on the Ubuy storefront for the country matching the card's currency, or register.
- Add items to the basket and go to checkout.
- At the payment step, choose gift card as the payment method and enter its code.
- Check that the card amount has been applied to the order total, along with delivery and marketplace fees.
- If the total exceeds the card's value, pay the difference with a second payment method and confirm the order.
FAQ
Why do the storefront country and the card currency have to match?
Ubuy operates as a set of national storefronts, each with its own pricing, logistics and settlement currency. A card in Kuwaiti dinars is used on the Kuwaiti storefront, one in dirhams on the UAE storefront. On any other storefront the payment system won't accept the code.
Does the card cover delivery and customs charges?
The card amount is applied to the order total on the marketplace, which normally already includes delivery and service fees. Charges collected by customs or the carrier when the parcel is handed over are paid separately and aren't covered by the card.
What happens if an item is cancelled or never arrives?
Refunds follow the marketplace's rules and normally go back to the same payment method — that is, to the gift card or account balance. Keep the card code until the order is closed so you can use the refunded balance.
