Best Buy is a large North American chain of consumer electronics and appliance stores operating in the United States and Canada. The range covers laptops and desktop computers, televisions and audio equipment, smartphones and tablets, headphones, photo and video cameras, game consoles with games and accessories, PC components, smart home devices, and both major and small household appliances. The chain combines retail stores with online ordering: some purchases are placed for delivery, others for pickup from a nearby store. The gift card pays for purchases at the register and for orders on the chain's site in the country the card was issued for: a denomination in US dollars for American stores and the American site, one in Canadian dollars for Canada. The value does not have to be spent all at once: the remainder stays on the card, and the shortfall on a large order can be covered in the usual way.
