Häagen-Dazs is a premium ice cream label that appeared in New York in the 1960s and built its reputation on a dense texture and a simple recipe: cream, milk, sugar and natural flavourings. Alongside packaged ice cream in supermarkets, the brand runs its own café parlours, and it is these that most often accept gift cards. In the cafés you can order scoops in a cone or a dish, sundaes and fondue, waffles and crêpes with ice cream, milkshakes, coffee, and ice cream cakes to take away for a celebration. The parlours operate in Malaysia and Thailand, and card values are issued in local currency — ringgit or baht. The card is accepted as payment for the bill in the café: it covers the order in full or in part, with the remainder paid separately.
