JOOX is a music streaming service developed by Tencent Music and aimed at Southeast Asian markets: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and neighbouring countries. It is available as a mobile app and a web version. Alongside its catalogue of tracks, it offers playlists, a karaoke mode, song lyrics and a large layer of local artists — it is this regional repertoire that sets JOOX apart from global competitors. The gift card pays for the paid JOOX VIP subscription. It lifts the limits of the free mode: playback runs without ad breaks, track selection opens up, sound quality is higher and music can be downloaded for offline listening. The card value is converted into a subscription period at the rates of the region the card was issued for, so the card currency has to match the country of the account.
