Romantik Hotels & Restaurants is a European association of privately owned hotels and restaurants, with most of its members operating in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. It brings together small family-run houses: historic manors, country inns and urban boutique hotels with their own kitchens and wine lists. Because it is an association, every house has its own character and its own menu, while the approach to service and participation in a shared gift certificate programme are what they hold in common. The gift card pays for a stay at participating hotels, for lunch or dinner in their restaurants, and for additional services where these are offered: breakfast, the spa area, a tasting menu. The face value can be used in full or as part of the total, with the remainder settled on site. The list of members changes over time, so it makes sense to confirm that a particular hotel accepts the card when you book.
