Walmart (沃尔玛) is a large international retail chain operating hypermarkets, supermarkets and Sam's Club warehouse clubs. In China the brand is present through hypermarkets and club stores in major cities, along with online ordering for delivery and click-and-collect. The range is above all groceries: fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, dairy, grains, drinks, ready meals and snacks. Beyond food, the stores carry household chemicals and homeware, kitchenware, textiles, children's goods, cosmetics and personal care, small electronics and seasonal items. A gift card is normally used for an ordinary purchase at the till or an order through the chain's online channel — in other words, the everyday basket rather than one particular category. Cards are issued in yuan and US dollars, and the market of issue matters: a card for the Chinese chain and a card for the American chain are different products and are not interchangeable.
