About the Shopee card
Shopee is a marketplace operating in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Brazil. The platform sells electronics and accessories, clothing and footwear, cosmetics, homeware, groceries, children's and sports goods — mostly through independent sellers, with part of the assortment shipped from the platform's own warehouses. A gift card tops up the balance in the Shopee app and is used as a payment method at checkout: the amount is deducted from the balance, and any shortfall can be covered by another method. The card is tied to a specific market — a face value in IDR, THB, VND, PHP, MYR, SGD or BRL works in that country's app and with an account registered there. Delivery and return rules are set by the seller and by the logistics of the chosen region.
How to redeem the card
- Install the Shopee app for the country the card was issued for and sign in to your account.
- Open your profile section and find the wallet or balance (Shopee Balance / ShopeePay).
- Choose the gift card top-up option and enter the code along with its face value.
- Make sure the amount now appears in your wallet balance.
- At checkout, select the Shopee balance as your payment method; if the order costs more than the face value, pay the difference.
FAQ
Will a card from one country work with an account in another?
No. Shopee operates as a set of separate national marketplaces: a card in PHP is activated in the Philippine app, a card in THB in the Thai app, and so on. The account, phone number and order currency must all belong to the same market.
Can the balance be withdrawn to a bank account?
Funds credited from a gift card are meant for purchases within the platform. Withdrawing them to a card or bank account is generally not available, unlike money the user has added to the wallet themselves.
What happens to the balance if an order is canceled or returned?
A refund for such an order follows the same route the payment took — back to the Shopee balance. Timing and procedure depend on the seller and on the country's platform, and the status is visible in your order history.
