About the Cinepolis card
Cinepolis is a cinema chain that began in Mexico and now operates across Latin America and beyond. Alongside standard auditoriums, it offers premium formats: VIP auditoriums with wide seats and food served at your place, IMAX, 4DX with motion seating and effects, and auditoriums with an extended screen. A gift card pays for session tickets — at the box office, at a self-service kiosk, or when booking seats online — and for snack bar purchases: popcorn, drinks, sweets and combo deals. The card is tied to the country and currency of issue, so the chain's cinemas in other countries generally do not accept it. The remaining balance is retained and can be spent across several visits.
How to redeem the card
- Confirm the card's country of issue — payment goes through at the chain's cinemas in that same country.
- Online: choose the city, cinema and showtime, then select gift card at the payment step and enter its number and code.
- At the cinema: give the code to the cashier or enter it at a self-service kiosk before printing your tickets.
- For purchases in the lobby, present the same code at the snack bar till.
- After paying, check the remaining balance on your receipt or in your chain account.
FAQ
Does the card work in VIP and 4DX auditoriums?
The auditorium format does not affect the payment method: a premium-format ticket simply costs more, so a larger amount comes off the balance. If the balance falls short, the difference is paid on site.
Can I buy only food and drinks with the card, without a ticket?
As a rule, yes — the snack bar in the lobby accepts the same cards, and no separate ticket is required. It is worth checking the arrangement at a particular cinema with a staff member.
Can two cards be used on the same order?
At the till the codes are usually processed one after another, so several cards can be used. Online forms more often allow one card per order — in that case the remainder is paid by another method.
