About the Viber card
Viber is a messenger for chat, voice and video calls between app users. Only calls within the service are free; calling ordinary landline and mobile numbers, and sending SMS from the app, draws on a paid Viber Out balance. A Viber gift card tops up exactly that balance: it covers outgoing calls to phone numbers at the rate for each destination and, in some cases, calling plans for a particular country. Funds from the balance may also pay for certain paid items inside the app, such as sticker packs. The card is a convenient way to give family and friends the means to call landlines from another country without linking a bank card to the account.
How to redeem the card
- Install Viber and sign in to the account registered to the recipient's phone number.
- Open the Viber Out balance section or the paid services menu in the app settings.
- Choose to top up with a gift code or voucher.
- Enter the code from the card and confirm the credit.
- Check that the balance has updated and call the number you need — the cost is deducted automatically.

How does the Viber Out balance differ from a calling subscription?
The balance is money spent by the minute at the rate for a given destination. A calling plan for a single country is paid for separately and includes a fixed number of minutes. In most cases, funds from a gift card can go toward either.
Does the person I call need Viber to answer?
No. The point of Viber Out is that the call goes to an ordinary phone number — a landline handset or a mobile with no app installed.
Can I top up someone else's account?
The code is redeemed in whichever account it is entered in, so it is best to pass the card on in full and let the recipient redeem it on their own number.
