About the DFDS card
DFDS is a Danish shipping company and one of the notable ferry operators in Northern Europe. It runs routes across the North and Baltic Seas, through the English Channel and along the Scandinavian coast, carrying passengers, cars, motorcycles and freight vehicles. Alongside short crossings there are cruise-style overnight sailings with cabins in several categories, restaurants and bars, shops on board and an entertainment program — a trip like this becomes part of the holiday in its own right. The company also sells package deals: a crossing combined with hotel accommodation or with a program in the city of arrival. A gift card fits this kind of travel well: it is usually used when booking a sailing and the extras that go with it — a cabin, a car space, meals on board. How to redeem the card
- Settle on the route, the date and the make-up of the trip: number of passengers, car, cabin.
- Make the booking on the operator's website or through its contact center.
- At the payment step, choose the gift card or voucher option and enter the code from the card.
- Check that the amount has been applied to the booking total, and pay the difference by bank card if the trip costs more than the denomination.
- Keep the booking confirmation — you will need to present it at check-in at the port.

Can I pay with the card on board — in a restaurant or a shop?
The on-board points of sale and the booking system are separate channels, and gift cards are not accepted everywhere on board. It is safer to include meals and extras in the booking in advance and pay for them together with the crossing.
Will the card cover a trip with a car?
Carrying a car is charged separately from passenger places, so the final amount is noticeably higher than for a single foot passenger. The card reduces the total bill, and you pay the difference when completing the booking.
What happens to the card if the sailing is rescheduled or the booking has to be changed?
The rules for changes and cancellations are set by the fare of the booking itself, not by the gift card. Any refundable portion is usually returned by the operator through the same method the payment was made with, so keep the card code until the trip is over.
