About the Wolt card

Wolt is a delivery service that grew out of a Finnish startup and now operates in many European countries. Through the app and the website customers order prepared food from restaurants and cafés, groceries from supermarkets and partner shops, and in a number of cities goods from pharmacies, electronics stores and homeware retailers. Some orders the service picks itself at its own dark stores. A gift card tops up the account balance: the funds go into the user's wallet and are applied to subsequent orders — to the cost of the food and the delivery, and in some countries to other items on the bill as well. The format suits people who regularly order lunch to the office or dinner at home and would rather not choose a particular restaurant on the recipient's behalf. The balance is tied to the service's country and currency, so the value is picked to match the recipient's region.

How to redeem the card

  1. Install the delivery service's app and sign in to an account in the country the card was issued for.
  2. Open your profile and go to the wallet or payment methods section.
  3. Choose to redeem a gift code and enter the code from the card.
  4. Check that the account balance has increased by the card's value.
  5. When placing an order, select payment from the balance — the funds will be taken from the wallet.

FAQ

What happens if the order costs more than the balance?

The balance is applied to the order total, and the difference is charged to the linked payment method — usually a bank card.

Will the balance work while travelling abroad?

The balance is tied to the country and currency the card was issued in. An order placed in another region will normally have to be paid for another way.

Can the balance be spent on more than restaurant food?

In many cities grocery stores and other partner locations are available. The set of categories depends on the city and changes over time.
