About the Talabat card
Talabat is a delivery service that grew from a Kuwaiti startup into one of the notable platforms in the Middle East. Through its app and website you order prepared food from restaurants and cafés — from local venues to international chains — as well as groceries and everyday goods from partner shops and the service's own dark stores. In most countries where it operates, adjacent categories are available too: pharmacy items, pet supplies, flowers and household chemicals. The service works across the Gulf states and neighbouring markets, with its own set of restaurants, delivery zones and local currency in each country. A gift card here works as a top-up to the account balance: the code is entered once in your profile, after which the amount is spent on orders. The card is tied to a country and currency — Bahraini and Kuwaiti dinars, the Jordanian dinar, Omani and Qatari rials, the Saudi riyal.
How to redeem the card
- Install the service's app for the country whose currency matches the card, and sign in to your account.
- Open your profile and find the section for the wallet, balance or gift cards.
- Enter the code from the card and confirm the top-up.
- Check that your account balance has increased by the value of the card.
- When placing an order, choose to pay from the balance; add any shortfall with another payment method.
FAQ
Can the balance be spent on more than restaurant food?
Funds are normally spent on any order within the service, including groceries from partner shops and everyday goods, provided those categories have launched in your country.
Does the balance cover the delivery fee and a tip for the courier?
Delivery fees and service charges are part of the order total and are deducted from the balance along with it. In some countries a tip is processed as a separate payment — this is visible on the payment screen.
What happens if an order is cancelled?
The amount taken from the account balance is generally returned there and is available for the next order. A refund to a bank card applies only to the part paid with it.
Does the card still work if I move to another country where the service operates?
The balance is tied to the country and currency of the account where the code was activated and does not transfer to another market. Activate the card in the country it was issued for.
