About the GrabFood card
GrabFood is the food delivery service inside Grab, one of the main everyday-services super apps in Southeast Asia. It is used to order dishes from restaurants, fast food chains, coffee shops, and local venues, and in a number of cities also groceries and everyday goods from adjacent sections of the app. Orders are placed in the app: pick a venue, fill the basket, set the delivery address, and pay with a linked method or the wallet balance. A Grab gift code tops up the payment balance of the account in the app, after which those funds cover GrabFood orders and often other services in the ecosystem as well. Codes are issued for specific countries and regional currencies — Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines — and work in an account registered on the corresponding market.
How to redeem the card
- Install the Grab app and sign in to an account registered in the country and currency of the gift code.
- Open the wallet or payments section in your app profile.
- Choose to top up with a gift code or voucher and enter the code you received.
- Check that the account balance has increased by the face value.
- Place an order in the GrabFood section and select the wallet balance at the payment step.
FAQ
Can the balance be spent on things other than food?
The funds go to the account's general payment balance, so they are usually available for other services in the app as well — rides, parcel delivery, payments at partner venues. The set of available services depends on the country.
What if the account is registered in a different country in the region?
The code is tied to the market it was issued for and to that market's currency. In an account from another country it generally will not redeem, so it is worth checking the registration country of the phone number in the app before buying.
Will the face value cover the whole order?
The final amount is made up of the cost of the dishes, the delivery fee, and service charges from the venue or the platform. If the balance falls short, the app normally offers to cover the remainder with a linked payment method.
