About the OMV card
OMV is an Austrian oil and gas company with a network of filling stations in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and several other countries in Central and South-Eastern Europe. The stations sell a range of fuels, including premium petrol and diesel lines, along with automotive fluids and small consumables: oils, screenwash, bulbs. Beyond fuel, most stations run VIVA-format shops and cafés — coffee, baked goods, snacks, drinks and things to take on the road. A gift card pays for purchases at the network's stations in the country the card was issued for, covering both the fuel itself and shop purchases at the station. How to redeem the card
- Make sure the card was issued for the country where you will be refuelling: cards from different markets are not interchangeable.
- Fill up at a station in the network, or gather your purchases in the shop at the station.
- At the till, hand over the card or its code and say you are paying with a gift card.
- If the total is higher than the card value, pay the difference by bank card or in cash.
- Any remaining value stays on the card for your next stops.

Can the card pay for shop purchases at the station rather than fuel?
As a rule, yes: the card works as a payment method at the station till and covers coffee, snacks and related goods just as it does fuel. Certain categories such as tobacco or lottery products may be excluded under the rules of a given market.
Does the card work at self-service pumps?
Self-service terminals do not accept gift cards everywhere. It is more reliable to refuel and settle up at the station till.
Can the card pay for a car wash?
If the wash is handled by the station till, payment normally goes through the same way. At stand-alone automatic washes it is worth checking on site.
Can the card be used in another country in the network?
No. The card is tied to the market and currency it was issued for, so it will not work at the network's stations in a neighbouring country.
