About the Iberia card
Iberia is a Spanish airline whose history goes back to 1927. Its home airport is Madrid–Barajas, from which it operates flights within Spain and across Europe, along with long-haul routes to Latin and North America. The carrier belongs to the IAG group and the oneworld alliance, and its loyalty program is called Iberia Plus. The gift card pays for the airline's flights: domestic Spanish destinations, European routes and long-haul services — subject to seat availability and the fare chosen. As a rule, the card covers the price of the ticket in full or in part, with the difference paid by another method. Extras — seat selection, additional baggage, changes to a booking — are charged separately, and whether a gift card can be applied to them depends on the conditions of sale.
How to redeem the card
- Keep the card code from the email you receive after your purchase.
- Choose a flight, date and fare in the airline's booking system.
- Enter passenger details exactly as they appear in the documents used for the trip.
- At the payment step, choose the gift card or voucher option and enter the code.
- Pay the difference if the ticket costs more than the card's value, and keep the itinerary receipt.
FAQ
Does the passenger have to be the person who received the card?
No. The card is a means of payment, and the passenger name is entered from the document of whoever is actually flying.
What happens if the flight is canceled or the ticket refunded?
Refunds follow the rules of the fare chosen. The amount paid with a gift card is usually returned the same way — to a code or voucher rather than in cash.
Are Iberia Plus miles earned on such a ticket?
Earning depends on the fare and booking class, not on the payment method. Enter the program membership number when booking so that the flight is credited.
Can the card be used for a flight operated by an alliance partner?
That depends on whether the flight is sold as an Iberia ticket. Codeshare flights under the airline's code are usually available to buy; separate tickets issued by other carriers are not.
