About the TK Maxx card
TK Maxx is a European off-price retail chain and part of the TJX group (the same chain trades as TJ Maxx in the United States). Its stores carry branded clothing and footwear, bags and accessories, cosmetics and fragrance, homeware, toys and pet supplies. Stock is bought in batches and changes constantly, so what you will find in any given store is impossible to predict in advance — that unpredictability is the point of the format. A gift card pays for purchases at the till in stores in the country where the card was issued; in some markets it is also accepted for online orders from the chain. Cards come in GBP, EUR and PLN, and the currency tells you which country the card works in: a British card will not be accepted in a Polish store, or the other way round.
How to redeem the card
- Check which country the card was issued for by looking at the currency — it needs to be used in stores in that same country.
- Take your items to the till and say you are paying with a gift card.
- Hand the card to the cashier: the code is either scanned from the barcode or keyed in manually.
- If the purchase comes to more than the card value, pay the difference by bank card or in cash.
- For online orders where this payment method is supported, enter the card number and PIN in the gift card payment field.

How do I check the remaining balance?
You can check it at the till in any store in the chain, or in the balance checker on the website, where you enter the card number and the PIN from the back. After a partial payment the remainder stays on the same card, so there is no need to swap it.
Can I pay with several cards at once?
Usually yes: the cashier processes them one after another, and anything still outstanding is settled by another payment method. If you have several cards, mention it before the transaction begins.
What happens if I return something bought with a gift card?
Returns follow the chain's own policy, and money for such a purchase is normally refunded to a gift card rather than in cash. Keep the receipt: without it the return terms differ, and staff at the till can explain exactly how it works.
Does the card work in stores run by other brands in the group?
That depends on the country: in some markets TJX also operates related homeware formats. Whether they accept a TK Maxx card is worth checking at the till of the particular store.
