About the Apple card
Apple makes the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods headphones, and runs its own ecosystem of digital services. An Apple gift card adds funds to an Apple ID balance, and that balance is spent in two directions. The first is digital: apps and games on the App Store, in-app purchases, music on Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade subscriptions, extra iCloud+ storage, books and films. The second is Apple retail: the devices themselves, cases, cables, adapters and other accessories. The balance is applied automatically to the next purchase or subscription renewal, and if it does not cover the full amount, the difference is charged to the linked payment method. The card is tied to the country it was issued for: the Apple ID account must belong to the same region and use the same currency, otherwise the code will not be accepted.
How to redeem the card
- Make sure the region of your Apple ID matches the country the card was issued for.
- Open the App Store on your iPhone, iPad or Mac and go to your account section.
- Choose the option to redeem a gift card or code, then enter the code by hand or scan it with the camera.
- Confirm the redemption and check that your Apple ID balance has increased by the card's value.
- Pay for purchases and subscriptions as usual — the balance is drawn on first.
FAQ
Can the card be used to pay for subscriptions such as iCloud+ or Apple Music?
Yes. Recurring subscription charges tied to that Apple ID are covered by the account balance for as long as funds remain on it.
Can the balance be used to buy an iPhone or accessories?
The Apple card combines digital and retail purchases, so it is also accepted when ordering devices and accessories from Apple stores in the same region. Whether retail payment is available depends on the country.
What happens if the account region does not match the card's country?
The code will not be redeemed. The Apple ID region can be changed in account settings, but the current balance has to be spent first — otherwise the change will not go through.
Can a remaining balance be moved to another account?
No. Once redeemed, the funds are attached to that particular Apple ID and can only be spent from it.
